Lately I've been seeing a lot of fuss about gay rights and figured maybe a good ol' poll may be a good idea. What do you guys think?

This is quite a preferably way for me to introduce myself! I - being in school for political sciences - would enjoy to discuss this topic. I would appreciate if my reply is read that the reader follow through fully with it and allow for facts and examples to lead our debate, and not just opinion. Thank you:

It's come to my attention personally that the most prominent belief of people is that the people defined by the derogative term "gays" should be allowed to get married. I too believe they deserve rights such as you should not be denied tax breaks just because you are two guys instead of a girl and a guy, but; actual marriage is in no way a right and therefore no one can claim a "right," to do it. I can only speak for the United States of America though. I suppose it is constitutional to allow "civil unions," therefore. The moral vs immoral argument is actually irrellevent and should be left up to the religion you subscribe to. I personally believe any thing that is not natural and rather instead abominates nature (homosexuality has lead to many diseases and illnesses) that is "immoral," but then again I could be considered all to pragmatic!

At the end of the day - I also don't actually care either way. But isn't not caring the reason the world is so corrupt now? Think about it.

I also want to point out I am very intriqued with the replies here. This is the first forum i've ever seen this topic on in which all the posters went in this direction. It usually ends up being a bunch of speeches about how gays have rights to marriage. I wish I could agree but these rights don't actually exist any where in the world. I believe battlehacks has demonstrated a superior political side than most other gamehack forums.

Most of us hate reading. We all know debates/arguments = big walls of unsimplified text. That's why we can just say what we want and leave without reading too much.
We're not ignorant, we just think differently.

I'm pretty sure that if someone barged in here and made some huge post about how gays could have rights, they'd be ignored or have a 1-line reply.

In my opinion, it depends on what you consider marriage. Marriage originally was a religious thing and the bible without question is in favor of a man and a woman being married. However, today marriage has become a more legal than sacred thing and therefore gays deserve it just as much as everyone else.

Prohibiting gays to be married is denying them certain health care benefits, tax benefits, and not to mention inheriting property and money if, god forbid, a loved one dies.

Telling gays to go fuck themselves quite literally is just ignorant Christian propaganda.
