      Howdy.

I heard of this place from another bnet player and came to check out the UU2.
Like many game players I have ideas for games or maps that I play, however I'm a novice when it comes to technical issues, and problem solving can take quite some time when in that situation.
Specifically I am trying to mod a UMS map from Starcraft Broodwar, and when I load the map some 100+ items are deleted from the map prior to it opening. So I close the game and activate the UU2, unprotect the map, then attempt to save it as a new file name. I recieve an error each time telling me the save attempt failed.
Later I was informed that I needed an up-to-date map editor that could register all the new fixings like stacked buildings, effects, etc.
I have gone and dled the Starcraft X-tra Editor but cannot initiate it for reasons that are alien to me.
So I'll keep asking around to see if I can get all the kinks worked out and give this map a good polishing to see if my ideas help make the map more fun.

X-Tra editor is the worst StarCraft editor you can get, it's just as bad as the one Blizzard provides (StarEdit).

SCMDraft (www.stormcoast-fortress.net) is in the top 2 editors, along with StarForge. Depending on what you like (I don't want to start a war on which is better), you will either like SCMDraft better or StarForge better, it is hard to like them both the same way.

My personal suggestion, from experience, is SCMDraft. Again, no wars/flame, it's just my personal opinion.

      Oh and welcome to Battlehacks
